| Every Housing Association needs to ensure their tenants are living in a safe property, especially for homes with gas central heating or other gas appliances Housing Associations have a legal duty to undertake a gas safety inspection of all gas pipes and appliances installed in their housing every 12 months. It is a criminal offence not to comply with these regulations. Faulty appliances can cause explosions and tenants could be at risk of injury or death from poisonous carbon monoxide fumes if your appliance, flue or ventilation is not working properly. To make sure it is, it needs to checked annually by properly qualified gas engineers. |
